REBUILD·SURVIVE·REMEMBER
A pixel-art colony sim in a post-apocalyptic world. You inherit a shelter on the ashes of a civilization that's already gone — and decide whether it rises again, or ends here.
Ashborne is a top-down pixel-art colony sim in the spirit of RimWorld and Stardew Valley, set in a post-apocalyptic world where every decision writes the story of your shelter. No babysitting tutorial, no toxic grind — just deep systems that talk to each other and let you discover your own strategies.
Build, survive, manage traits and disease, discover technology, traverse extreme biomes. Hand-written narrative events run through the game — you're not playing against a random number generator, you're navigating a story that reacts to you.
Almost every system in the game affects another. Contamination becomes disease. Active traits change behavior. Buildings have synergy. Progression milestones unlock exclusive tech branches. Not a checklist — a web.
17 base buildings + 17 from DLCs. Placing the workshop next to the foundry isn't decoration — it's a real production bonus.
Each survivor carries traits that change behavior — not just numbers. Pacifist refuses raid missions. Optimist resists depression. Bipolar swings.
Eat undercooked meat? Accident. Don't treat it? Becomes disease. Don't isolate? Spreads. You're rebuilding civilization, not running a spreadsheet.
You pick one tech branch, others lock. Each run becomes a different shelter — there's no "optimal build" that covers everything.
41 hand-written events (with custom illustrations) that react to world state. The suspicious caravan returns — but this time your psychologist is sick.
Every real milestone (50 days without death, first harvest, advanced building) unlocks permanent bonuses — never cosmetics.
Ashborne ships with 6 content packs ready. Each adds environments, events, buildings and new survivor traits — some will be free at launch, others as paid DLC.
Frozen biome with hypothermia mechanics, predator wildlife and heating buildings.
Origin path for raider characters, raid missions and alternative morality for those who abandon civilized order.
Archaeological events, pre-collapse ruins and ancient technologies that change what you can build.
Forest biome with advanced agriculture, peaceful fauna and a tech tree focused on sustainability.
Inter-shelter trade system, caravans, contracts and a new currency — your reputation matters.
Mutant creatures of the wastes, night-hunting events and new craftable weapons/armor.
Native 1280×800 resolution, full controller navigation, visible and responsive focus, stable performance on portable hardware. Also works on Windows, Linux and macOS through Steam — no exotic dependencies.
Optimized JobQueue for colonies with 50+ colonists. No stutter, no frame drops as the world grows.
Large saves (whole world + every colonist's state) processed on a separate thread. You don't freeze when saving.
Colorblind palettes (with remap), reduced motion, font scale. No one is left behind by the HUD.
Community mod system (user://mods/) and paid DLC (res://dlc/) with Steam ownership gating. Modders are happy.
Steam wishlist opens soon. Drop your email and I'll let you know the moment the store page goes live — no spam, no monthly newsletter, just the launch.
